Privacy Policy

Ant Alert ("the app") is made by mika made it. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and who it is shared with. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell or advertise with your data, and we don't track your location in the background.

What we collect

• Your email address — used to create your account and sign you in. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a one-time code rather than storing a password.
• Approximate location — when you open the app or tap to update your location, the app reads your device's location to show weather for where you are. We store this as coordinates and a city name. The app does not track your location in the background or when it is closed.
• Your settings — preferences such as temperature and wind units, which alerts you've turned on, and your risk-threshold choices.
• A notification token — if you enable alerts, a push token from your device so we can send the notifications you asked for.

How we use it

We use this information only to provide the app: to show local flying-ant conditions, remember your preferences, and send the alerts you choose to turn on. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who processes your data

The app relies on a few trusted services to function:

• Supabase — stores your account and settings and handles sign-in.
• Open-Meteo — provides the weather forecast. Your coordinates are sent to it to return conditions for your location.
• Resend — delivers your sign-in code emails.
• Expo, Apple, and Google — deliver push notifications to your device.

These providers process data on our behalf to make the app work; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't use it for advertising or share it for marketing.
• We don't track your location in the background.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can ask us to delete your account and the data associated with it at any time by emailing contact@mikamadeit.com.

Children

Ant Alert is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
